A popular scene from a previous "Ghosts & More" tour depicted factory girls who jumped from a three-story window to escape a fire. Visitors on this year's tour will hear the story of the one who did not make it to the ground.

Tickets for “Ghosts & More” Oct. 19 and 26 in Rocky Mount are available for sale. During the event, visitors will ride a vintage bus through town, meeting long-dead and recently seen spirits, and hear tales of murder and intrigue.
Franklin County Historical Society will present stories of local ghostly sightings and mysterious events dating from the 1800s through the present. Actors and interpreters will appear as characters and guides to tell “the rest of the story” during the ride. The tour is rated “G” for ghostly.
Visitors will meet a bride who may be crazy or just mean; a woman from 1880 who was recently sighted; a young man convicted of murder, hanged and buried in a pauper’s grave without ever revealing his real name; and the young and old who left this life under intriguing circumstances.
Tickets are $14 a piece; advance purchase recommended. Departure time may be chosen when tickets are obtained. The first bus will leave at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 483-1890.
