The United Way of Franklin County has come aboard for the 2014 Grand Winter Gala, a fundraiser in its fifth year.
According to a news release, the gala’s board members decided that teaming with United Way would help reach more of the lake community through the organization’s partners and affiliates. All money donated by the Grand Winter Gala to the United Way of Franklin County will stay in Franklin County.
The Grand Winter Gala will continue to help support The Agape Center, Helping Hands of Franklin County and Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy.
“Diamonds and Pearls” will be the theme for this year’s gala, which will be held on Feb. 8 at The Water’s Edge Country Club, The events will include a gourmet dinner, entertainment by Fuzzy Logic, casino games and a silent auction. New this year will be a shuttle bus sponsored by Underground Fitness that will transport guests to The Water’s Edge.
