Recently I went into a Verizon store to ask about their senior plan. The young clerk told me, “You have to be 65.” I laughed, “I think I qualify. I’m 72.”
It doesn’t matter whether he was sincere or not, he made me laugh and laughter lifts the spirits.
There is a Bible verse that reads, “Gray hair is a crown of glory.” When I read it, I pondered not coloring my hair anymore.
I shared my wonderings and Verizon encounter with a friend and I will heed her advice, “Keep coloring.” After all, the Bible also says, “A cheerful heart is a good medicine.”
A 97-year-old friend wanted to hurry to the restaurant before the old people get there. A sister-in-law said that “old lady” who was your teacher in high school was probably in her 20s.
Keep your mind thinking young and enjoy life no matter the number of years. Most of all, smile. Bring joy into the lives of others.
