Mike Silverman, aka That1Guy, is twisted in the best possible way.

Armed primarily with a device called the magic pipe - which he built himself, then built again after the first one was stolen - Silverman travels the land, combining the otherworldly-yet-organically-funky sounds of that instrument with his growing interest in sleight of hand. That 1 Guy might just have morphed into a mu-gician.

Just listening to his work is interesting enough. Go to blogs.roanoke.com/cutnscratch to hear a streaming version of his latest cut, "Infinite Depths at the Bottom of the Sea."

Opening the show is another unique act, Wolff and Tuba.

Brian Wolff , formerly of Drums and Tuba, has enlisted drummer Steve Garofano , and they build something trippy based on loops that sometimes actually sound like they are coming from a tuba. On a video at the Wolff and Tuba website, Wolff said, "If no one cares ... then you are the best, by default."
