Civil War tour
The History Museum of Western Virginia and the O. Winston Link Museum are sponsoring a bus trip through the Shenandoah Valley and central Virginia to learn about Union Gen. David Hunter's raid during the Civil War. The tour will go from Lexington to Buchanan to Bedford County - stopping at 1790s Fancy Farm - and Lynchburg. Sherman's March to the Sea
The Salem Museum is sponsoring a trip to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Gen. William T. Sherman's Savannah Campaign conducted through Georgia during the Civil War. The group will visit the Atlanta Museum, the Atlanta Cyclorama, Stone Mountain, Savannah and the Old Fort Jackson.
