Exchange Hotel Civil War Museum

Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a trip to Gordonsville’s historic Exchange Hotel, Virginia’s only standing Civil War receiving hospital. Before the war, the hotel with its high ceilings and grand veranda welcomed passengers from two railway lines. By war’s end, more than 70,000 soldiers had been treated at the hospital. Participants will also visit the Barboursville Ruins. The $67 fee includes breakfast biscuit, tour fees, a lunch of Gordonsville’s famous fried chicken, bus and escort.
