Dayton and Stuarts Draft
Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a trip to the Dayton Farmers Market, the Shenandoah Heritage Market, Milmont Greenhouses and The Cheese Shop in Stuarts Draft. Milmont is known for having the largest selection of plants in the Shenandoah Valley. Stars and Stripes Patriotic Concert at D-Day Memorial
Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a trip to Bedford. The $49 per person fee includes a visit to the memorial at dusk and a concert by the Jefferson Choral Society, including performances by the Jefferson Youth Chorale and Cantate and the Chorus of the Blue Ridge. Following is music by the ensemble Let’s Dance, with selections from the 1940s. Bring your own lawn chair. N.C. Transportation Museum
Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring a trip to the North Carolina Transportation Museum, located on the former site of Southern Railway’s largest steam locomotive repair facility in Spencer. The guided tour includes the 1924 Roundhouse, the “Bumper to Bumper” exhibit — a collection of antique automobiles — a narrated, 25-minute train ride, pulled by an antique diesel engine touring the 57-acre site. In the afternoon, take a narrated trolley tour of Salisbury, N.C. The $64 fee per person includes breakfast biscuit, all tour fees, train and trolley rides, lunch at Ryan’s Steakhouse, bus transportation and escort.
