A 16-year-old girl faces charges after police were called to Forest Park Academy for a fake gun threat Tuesday, authorities said.
Roanoke police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said officers were dispatched to the school at 9:03 a.m., after a report that someone in the school had a gun.
Police swept the school and surrounding area, but did not find anyone with a gun.
Johnson said officers later identified the girl as the initial caller, and determined there was no threat. Police did not release her name or say whether she is a student at the school.
Johnson said the girl faces single counts of disruption of school and falsely summoning police.
