A man has been charged after his vehicle flipped Saturday afternoon in Vinton.

A car flipped on its side late Saturday afternoon in Vinton in the 3000 block of Sterling Road.
One lane of traffic was closed on Sterling Road shortly after 4 p.m. for about an hour.
According to emergency service crews at the scene, a white Mercury Grand Marquis ran off the winding road and flipped on its side after the driver overcorrected when he saw another vehicle on the road.
No one was injured. The driver, Philip K. Meekins , 46, was charged with failure to maintain control of the vehicle, according to a news release from the Roanoke County Police Department.
