A car overturned after hitting a tractor-trailer and the median on U.S. 220 Tuesday morning, sending one passenger to the hospital.
Roanoke police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said a white Cadillac was traveling south on the highway at 8:18 a.m. when it struck a tractor-trailer, then hit the median and turned over just before the Virginia 419 exit.
A passenger in the Cadillac, 23-year-old Marcus Goodrich, was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Johnson said. Hospital spokesman Eric Earnhart said Goodrich was later released.
The driver of the Cadillac, 26-year-old Maurice Jones, was charged with reckless driving. Neither Jones nor the driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital.
Johnson said the wreck is under investigation.
