101.5 FM The Valley’s Music Place is opening its airwaves to help Child Health Investment Partnership of Roanoke Valley, aka CHIP, on Thursday.
Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. that day, listeners can call 339-9000 during a radio telethon and donate in honor of a mom you love, and the radio station will air her name and CHIP will send a special card to let her know a gift was made in her honor. Either way, donors will be eligible for prize drawings throughout the day.
The gift will help more than 1,000 low-income children in the area get a healthier start in life, according to CHIP and the radio station. 101.5 FM is a radio partner of The Roanoke Times.
If you are too busy to call in that day, donations are also accepted at www.chiprv.org or you can call 857-6993 to see how else you can help a valley-based organization.
