Roanoke police have identified the man injured in a shooting on Shenandoah Avenue on Tuesday night.
Police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said in a news release that officers responded at 10:17 p.m. to the 2500 block of Shenandoah Avenue Northwest after reports of a shooting.
Johnson said Wednesday morning that officers initially were unable to locate a victim, but later received word that Travis Eugene Watkins, 31, of Roanoke had arrived at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police determined that Watkins had been shot in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Shenandoah Avenue.
He left the scene before officers arrived and was taken to the hospital by an acquaintance in a private vehicle, the news release said. Carilion spokesman Eric Earnhart said he had no information on Watkins’ condition Wednesday afternoon.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information can call Roanoke police at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.
