A woman was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after crashing into a culvert off U.S. 220 in Boones Mill.
Andrea J. Hymer, 22, of Boones Mill was driving north on U.S. 220 when her 2001 Nissan Pathfinder crossed both lanes of traffic, veered off an embankment and landed in a culvert, state police Trooper J.T. Haynes said at the scene.
Hymer was the only person in the vehicle and wasn’t wearing a seat belt, Haynes said.
The crash may have been caused by a medical emergency, he said. Hymer was taken to a local hospital, he said.
