Roanoke County police said a man was injured late Monday when three men broke into his house, attacked him and demanded cash.
Officers arrived at a home in the 5000 block of Merriman Road about 11:45 p.m., where a 75-year-old man said three intruders armed with at least one handgun forced their way into his home, said Sgt. R.M. Poindexter.
The suspects demanded money and attacked the man, who suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Poindexter said. Poindexter did not know how the man was attacked and would not say if the intruders made off with any money or items.
Poindexter said detectives do not have clear descriptions of the three suspects. He declined to release the victim's name.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Roanoke County police at 562-3265.
