Visitors to downtown Roanoke now can find parking options at their fingertips. Downtown Roanoke Inc. has launched Park Noke, a free iPhone app designed to help visitors find parking spaces in downtown Roanoke.
Park Noke uses GPS data to offer parking lot locations, cost information, turn-by-turn directions, and information on weather and events hosted by DRI. It does not indicate whether a specific parking lot has availability at any given time.
Developer Ed Dixon created Park Noke for DRI with the cooperation of Park Roanoke, Waldvogel Commercial Properties, CarPark Inc., Towne Park, and other businesses and city offices.
The app can be downloaded from the App Store or from downtownroanoke.org. There are no plans for an Android version, said Price Gutshall, economic development specialist for DRI.
