Three men were arrested after a man was stabbed early Thursday morning in Pulaski.
According to a news release, Pulaski police received a call at 12:29 a.m. from LewisGale Hospital Pulaski personnel about a man with a stab wound. Officers interviewed Michael B. Koert, 28, who had been stabbed in his back, according to the release.
Koert was transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Spokesman Eric Earnhart said Thursday morning that he has no information on Koert's condition.
The initial investigation revealed that a fight between the victim and three suspects occurred in the street in the 900 block of Randolph Avenue. The suspects fled but were later located by officers in the 700 block of Monroe Avenue, according to the release.
Andrew M. Hall III, 27, of Dublin and Christopher K. Hardin, 28, of Pulaski were charged with assault and battery. Matthew R. Hetherington, 26, of Pulaski was charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
A search warrant was served at the suspects' location, and illegal narcotics were recovered. The release stated that the investigation is continuing and additional criminal charges are probable.
Officers were on the scene until 8:53 a.m. The suspects were being held this morning at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
