Just getting to the plane is a bumpy ride
Every time I walk through the doors at Roanoke Regional Airport, I think: How in the world did real, thinking architects come up with this type of floor surface for this terminal?
Each member of the airport commission who approved this should be strapped in a wheelchair and forced to ride back and forth, from one end to another, eight hours a day. Bump-bump-bump.
Even pulling your bags on this dumb floor is bump-bump-bump.
Can you imagine how much dirt is accumulated in the deep cracks between the tiles, and how much extra effort is needed to clean the floor?
We will always remember the airport at Roanoke — bump, bump, bump.

Drug pricing is beyond court’s reach
I found your March 26 editorial “ ‘Right’ pricing drugs” to be illustrative of the desire many have to misappropriate powers for the Supreme Court.
You state, “Now the high court must sift through competing claims and discern how best to protect consumer interest.” Nonsense; the legislative branch, not the court, should make that determination if it is to be made. The court could then be called upon to determine the constitutionality of such legislation as might arise as a result of said determination.
This call for the court to make socio-political determinations for the citizenry is contrary to the court’s constitutional powers and, if heeded, frightful in its ramifications.
McAuliffe? Not now, not later, not ever
I do not believe this is the time, nor that there ever will be a time, to elect a left-wing, bleeding-heart liberal such as Terry McAuliffe, presumptive Democratic nominee for Virginia governor.
It seems it would be much more reasonable to vote for a good conservative like Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, the presumptive Republican nominee. He could be one of the few real conservatives left in America.
