Finally, a church organization that has the courage to oppose allowing homosexuals in the Boy Scouts (“Baptists oppose Scouting’s policy on gays,” June 13 news story):
In the “Nation and World” section, the Rev. Wes Taylor says homosexuality is opposed to everything that Scouts stand for, and he is absolutely right. The Apostle Paul wrote in the book of Romans how God condemns homosexuality as sin and is against it.
Among the Scouts’ promises and laws, they promise to do their duty to God and country and to be morally straight and reverent. Religious leaders and families of boys for decades have taught them to follow the Bible and Scout teachings.
The Boy Scouts, founded in 1908, has set a great example to teach boys how to live a moral life, be good citizens and contribute to society.
“Be Prepared” is the motto of Scouts. America needs to be prepared as another organization teaching our youth to grow up and honor God and country falls by the wayside because of liberal teaching and churches not taking a stand, fearing persecution.
What a shame, America.
