The letters section of The Roanoke Times used to be a fun read. Now, the close-mindedness is getting tiring.
Why does it matter if someone is gay, a different ethnicity, likes to dress like a different sex or wears a Spiderman costume down the sidewalk? (I saw this the other day.) People are irrational.
If you want to make a fuss, go ahead. It’s a free country. To me, it seems a waste of my life to worry about such things. Live your life, and stop trying to change other people.
Some feel it is their duty to pass judgment. Who are you to judge? You can believe in God, but you are not God.
People say that it affects them, but how? Are you sleeping with them? Are you forced to worship as they do? Stop forcing them to live as you want them to. Stop trying to change them.
Live your own life. If you believe other people are living wrong, so what? Don’t live like them. It is not your place to deny them equal rights.
