PRINCETON, W.Va — Pulaski’s Joseph DeCarlo launched a solo home run to center field in the top of the 11th to key a seven-run inning that broke open a 3-3 tie and gave the Mariners a 10-3 win and a sweep of the Princeton Rays at Hunnicutt Field.
Kristian Brito was the offensive star of the game for Pulaski, going 3 for 6 with six RBIs, including the game-tying two-run double in the top of the sixth and a three-run home run in the pivotal 11th.
Former Virginia Tech pitcher Eddie Campbell got his first win of the season by pitching five innings in relief of starter Noel De La Cruz, and allowing only one hit and no walks while striking out 10.
Jesus Ugueto also had a triple and two RBIs for Pulaski.
The Mariners travel to Johnson City for a three-game series with the Cardinals that begins tonight at 7 p.m.
