JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Pulaski Mariners overcame the rain and the
Johnson City Cardinals on Thursday, notching a 7-3 Appalachian League baseball victory.
The game was scoreless until the third inning when Pulaski's Jesus Ugueto plated teammate Franklin Diaz after two consecutive walks.
The Cardinals (11-8) answered when Ronnierd Garcia grounded out to score Vaughn Bryan and tie the score.
Pulaski (11-7) then took control by scoring in the final three innings.
Pulaski pitcher Ramire Cleto recorded three strikeouts and allowed one run in four innings.
The game was shortened to seven innings and the planned second game of the doubleheader was postponed because of rain for a second straight day.
