PULASKI - D.J. Davis led off the game with the first of his two home runs, and three Pulaski errors contributed to Bluefield's four-run third inning that put the game out of reach for good Sunday as the Blue Jays easily beat the Mariners 9-2 at Calfee Park.
The loss was Pulaski's third in a row after having its six-game winning streak snapped Friday night.
Leading 1-0 heading into the third, Bluefield turned three singles into four runs on throwing errors by Wilton Martinez, Zach Shank and Franklin Diaz as the Blue Jays' lead swelled to 5-0.
Davis further cemented the outcome with his second home run in the top of the fourth, a three-run shot that made it 8-0 and chased starter Noel De La Cruz (1-2).
The Mariners' runs came in the bottom of the fourth as Kristian Brito singled home Luke Guarnaccia and later scored on a Zach Shank groundout.
Pulaski and Bluefield will square off again tonight at 7 p.m. at Calfee Park.
