Sean Christein scored off an assist from Caleb Lewis in the ninth minute as Christopher Newport (3-3-1) ended Roanoke's undefeated season, winning 2-0.
Jalon Brown assisted Tommy O'Neal for the Captains' second goal.
The Maroons (5-1) were able to mount only two shots on goal.
Maroons goalie Cole Sinclair recorded six saves in the losing effort.
Covenant (Ga.) 4, Ferrum 1
FERRUM - Garrison Dale opened up scoring for the Scots (5-2-2) as they rolled the Pathers (4-4).
Joel Friesen, Michael Arango and Barrett Schmidt each scored for Covenant.
The lone Ferrum goal came from the foot of Aaron Gustine in the 35th minute.

FERRUM - Anna Porch scored three minutes into overtime as the Scots (4-5) defeated the Panthers (3-4).
Annabelle Pivarnik scored the lone goal for Ferrum in the 30th minute.

LEXINGTON - Becca Dunn netted two goals as the Generals (6-1, 2-0) defeated the Yellow Jackets (3-4, 1-2).
Patrick Henry graduate Tricia Jessee opened the scoring for W&L with an unassisted goal in the seventh minute.

UNION, NJ. - Korri Thompson recorded four goals and two assists as the Cougars (8-0) defeated the Maroons (1-4).
Kellie Jasinski scored one goal and teammate Elyse Law scored the other for Roanoke.

VIRGINIA BEACH - Nikki Cuthbert scored the lone goal as the Marlins (4-1, 1-0) beat the Generals (1-6, 0-2) in ODAC action.
Goalie Sally Curtiss recorded three saves for Washington and Lee.
LEXINGTON - Liberty's Caleb Edmonds won the men's 8K race at the VMI Invitational with a time of 26:12.77.
Liberty claimed the top four spots with N'Getich Kipchirchir, Josh MacDonald, and Jeremie Bourget all finishing under 27 minutes.
Letita Saayman claimed the women's 5K race for Coastal Carolina with a time of 18:18.17.
Teresa William of Radford finished eighth with a time of 19:22.67.
Highlander Ryan Farnan finished 14th in the men's competition with a time of 27:40.34.
Cave Spring grad and High Point runner Cody Seymour finished 39th with a time of 28:55.95.
Patrick Henry grad Harrison Toney took home first as the Roanoke men's and women's cross country teams claimed titles in the Roanoke Invitational.
Toney finished in 28:08 and Floyd County alum Austin Grubb took fourth with a time of 29:49.
Cave Spring grad John Wiggins finished 11th for the Maroons with a time of 30:53.
Former Cave Spring Knight Kerri Dalton claimed the women's race with a time of 21:40 in the 5K. Roanoke took the next three spots with Whitney Spence, Hannah Cline, and Claire Brooks finishing second, third and fourth respectively.
