WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Brittany Ratcliffe and Alexis Shaffer scored five minutes apart in the first half as top-ranked Virginia blanked the No. 11 Wake Forest 2-0 on Sunday and clinched a spot in the ACC women's soccer tournament.
Ratcliffe headed in a cross from Shasta Fisher at the 36-minute mark and Shaffer scored after a corner kick. Virginia (14-0, 8-0 ACC) remains the only team in the nation without a loss or tie.
Wake Forest (8-3-2, 3-3-2) was outshot 9-1.

LEXINGTON - Washington & Lee (11-1-1) and Salisbury (7-4-2) played to a scoreless draw with the Generals holding an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.

CHARLOTTESVILLE - Taylor Hodge's late second-half goal gave William & Mary (6-7) the upset win over No. 5 Virginia (14-3).
Pippin Saunders scored the opening goal for the Tribe in the first half and Hodge scored late in the second half. Kelsy LeBlanc scored for the Cavaliers, who outshot the Tribe 10-4.
Rhodes 5, Roanoke 2
LEXINGTON - Rhodes' three-goal win dropped Roanoke to 2-10. The Lynx improved to 6-7.
VT's Vincent wins 3rd event of season
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Virginia Tech's Scott Vincent carded a 4-under-par 68 in the final round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate to win medalist honors.
Vincent tallied a 13-under 203, two strokes ahead of Thomas Birdsey of Wake Forest and Denny McCarthy of Virginia.
The Cavaliers edged the Hokies for the team title with a 22-under score of 842, one stroke ahead of Virginia Tech.
WINCHESTER - The first round of the Virginia Intercollegiate Golf Tournament was canceled due to inclement weather and the tournament, which includes Roanoke, Washington & Lee, and Ferrum, was shortened to 18 holes.
UVa finishes 15th at UNC
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Virginia carded a 300 in the final round to finish with a score of 895 at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational.
The Cavaliers finished in 15th place and Duke took the team title with a score of 7-under-par 857, followed by Vanderbilt at second with 868.
Clemson's Ashlan Ramsey took medalist honors with a three-round score of 9-under 207. Virginia's Portland Rosen finished in a tie for eighth at 1-under 215.
Hollins' Cheng leads at Bridgewater Invitational
HARRISONBURG - Hollins' Elizabeth Cheng fired a 3-over 75 to top the leaderboard after the first round of the Bridgewater Invitational.
Washington & Lee is second out of three teams with a 368, 14 strokes back of Randolph-Macon. W&L's Rachael Wright (North Cross) is third individually with a score of 83.
