ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Floyd-Floyd County PSA Floyd, VA Water Meter Replacement Sealed Bids for the Floyd-Floyd County PSA Water Meter Replacement Project will be received at the office of the Floyd-Floyd County PSA until 2:00 pm local time on October 30, 2020 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. The project consists of: Replacement of approximately 621 water meters of various sizes with radio read water meters, and replacement of approximately 60 meter boxes and related appurtenances as described in the Contract Documents. This is a public health initiative to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 between and among PSA employees and the customers and public at-large. This equipment will enable electronic meter reading so that staff no longer has to physically get out and approach homes and businesses to read the meters. Time is of the essence. Therefore, the completion date for meter delivery shall be December 30, 2020. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is Hurt & Proffitt, Inc., 1861 Pratt Drive, Suite 1100, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060, Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Bidding Documents also may be examined at: McGraw-Hill Const./Dodge, 9 North Third Street, Richmond, VA 23219 Valley Construction News Plan Room, 426 Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24016 Builder's Exchange, 3207 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23227 Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of Hurt & Proffitt, Inc. located at 1861 Pratt Drive, Suite 1100, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060 upon nonrefundable payment of $100 for each set of documents, or downloaded free of charge at https://www.handp.com/contact/bids/. A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 am local time on October 21st, 2020 at the offices of the Floyd-Floyd County PSA. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. BIDDER'S attention is invited to the requirements of Section 54.1 of the Code of Virginia pertaining to registration which specifies the following with regard to contractor licensure and registration by definition: "Class A contractors" perform or manage construction, removal, repair, or improvements when (i) the total value referred to in a single contract or project is $120,000 or more, or (ii) the total value of all such construction, removal, repair, or improvements undertaken by such person within any 12-month period is $750,000 or more. "Class B contractors" perform or manage construction, removal, repair, or improvements when (i) the total value referred to in a single contract or project is $10,000 or more, but less than $120,000, or (ii) the total value of all such construction, removal, repair or improvements undertaken by such person within any 12- month period is $150,000 or more, but less than $750,000. The bidder shall place on the outside of the envelope containing the bid and shall place in the bid over his signature whichever of the following notations is appropriate: "Licensed Class A Virginia Contractor No._______________."
