NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Pursuant to Sections 58.1-3007 and 15.2-2400 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, the Council of the City of Roanoke will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 15, 2021, to consider an amendment to the boundary of the Williamson Road Area Service District as described in Section 32-103.2, Williamson Road Area Service District defined, of the Code of the City of Roanoke (1979), as amended. The proposal is to expand the boundary of the Williamson Road Area Service District to include 135 properties comprising 209 acres, with an assessed value of $156.5M. The additional parcels will be subject to the levy and collection of the additional annual real property tax, imposed on all properties in the Williamson Road Area Service District, in the amount of ten cents ($.10) per one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation. This public hearing may be conducted by electronic communication means due to the COVID-19 pandemic disaster. All persons wishing to address City Council must sign-up with the City Clerk's Office by emailing or calling (540) 853-2541 by 12:00 noon, on Monday, March 15, 2021. Citizens who register will be provided information to present their testimony via electronic communications means.
