A businesswoman with experience in the private and government sectors has been named the new executive director of the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce.
Sheri Winesett began her new job Monday, according to an announcement from the chamber’s board of directors.
Winesett has worked for Stone Mountain Advisors in Roanoke, providing clients with strategic planning and negotiation services. Before that, she served on the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce executive committee and as president of the Haymarket-Gainesville Business Association.
Her arrival in Botetourt coincides with that of several major employers, including an automotive parts factory and a major brewery.
“Our community is witnessing incredible growth and transformation and it is increasingly important that our chamber, county officials and business community continue its collaboration in order to sustain our drive for growth and prosperity,” Stephanie Frost, board president, said in the announcement.
