Hurley: In memory of Joseph Salmon

One year ago this month, Roanoke City Schools lost one of its most dedicated teachers. He loved his students at Hurt Park and Roanoke Academy and his students loved him. He respected his principals, teachers and parents and they respected him. His name is Joseph L. Salmon. When I visit his grave site, I read the words "Soared Like An Eagle" on his marker. Then I kneel to pray for the leadership of Roanoke City Schools.
