A rainy development
With the university growing, new developments are popping up all over the town.
Increased runoff is a direct consequence of irresponsible and capricious developments.
Some of us wonder how we and our loved ones get home whenever it rains.
I must say that after watching Trump and Clinton for the last several months I am really not that excited about either candidate.
People have asked me who I was thinking about supporting in the election. I answered, I was thinking of not supporting either candidate. In fact I was thinking of not voting. So, in the future someone could not blame me for making the wrong choice.
I told a friend of mine what I was thinking about doing. He replied, “How can you, a Vietnam veteran, a teacher for 35 years, and a member of the Christiansburg Town Council even think about not voting. How many people in the world don’t even have the opportunity to vote, or to vote for the candidate of their own choice. Throughout the history of this country, people have fought and died to have the opportunity to be involved in the future of their country, and you don’t feel like voting.”

It is sad that someone had to tell me how fortunate we are in America. I know how lucky I am, and how lucky we all are to be able to vote. I plan to vote on Nov. 8. I hope everyone else will do the same.
See you at the polls.
