North Cross striker Kennedy Nwabia, who scored the Raiders’ first goal in their 2-0 victory over Highland School in the state final, has been named the VIS Division II boys soccer player of the year.
Nwabia was joined on the first team by North Cross teammates Brandon Campbell and Bennett Holley; along with Landon Hill, Cody Martin and Andrew Okiring of Carlisle.
Christian Entleitner of North Cross was named to the second team.

Liberty signs Mabry
Liberty University announced the signing of Bassett senior pitcher Taylor Mabry on Monday.
Mabry has landed a partial softball scholarship, according to her uncle, Bassett coach Sheldon Mabry. Liberty might move her from pitcher to another position.
Mabry was an at-large pick on both the All-Timesland second team and the All-Group 4A all-state first team last season, when she hit .472 and was 14-8 with 113 strikeouts in the circle.
